EVERY COLLEGE STUDENT SHOULD HAVE THESE 5 EXPERIENCES It’s difficult for me to realize how much job and other responsibilities have taken over my life since graduating from college.

If I had known how priceless my college years would be, perhaps I would have given myself more time to experience things.

Do not misunderstand; being an adult is wonderful! Unfortunately, it lacks the excitement and opportunities that come with college. Friends mature, people start kids, your job depends on you, and experiences frequently need much planning.

5 Experiences Every College Student Should Have | The college years are the perfect time to gain new experiences and take on new adventures. These tips will help you make the most of your time as a college student!

I’ve put up this list of 5 experiences every college student should have because I’d hate to see someone else lose out on all the wonderful things that four years may offer.

Although there are many more activities you can engage in besides those on this list, if you complete them all, you will, I guarantee, be a more well-rounded adult once you reach the so-called real world.

First, financial management The number of adults who are unable to balance a checkbook, file their taxes, or manage their finances might surprise you. Without this ability, it can be very challenging to:

Increase your savings. Plan ahead for retirement Recognize investments Ensure that all of your money is in order. Setting yourself up for success as an adult includes gaining financial management expertise while in college. You won’t have to stress about overspending in the future if you start learning how to budget your money today.

I’ve made a free college budget template to get you going and teach you how to handle your money wisely.

2. WORK OR INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE I put this at number two for a reason. If you don’t have real-world experience while you’re in college, you’re setting yourself up for a difficult road when it comes to looking for a career.

Internships are a terrific method to see if you genuinely like the field by getting your foot in the door. Even if the majority of them are unpaid, you will still learn a lot from them, and perhaps you will leave with some of your supervisors’ contact information so you may use them as references in the future.

Working while you are in school also demonstrates to potential employers that you are capable of making sensible use of your time.
It’s better to practice now before you jump right into adulthood because you’ll need to juggle a job, running errands, and many other things!

3. EVENT CULTURAL Special events and activities are always taking place on college campuses. Cities, especially bigger ones, frequently conduct yearly or monthly events for the local population.

The reason I listed attending a cultural event as a must-do activity for college students is that it broadens your perspective on the world. We often need to step outside of our bubble and recall that our world is fairly diverse because we live in a me-me-me environment.

I gained knowledge about effective communication and how to appreciate various ethnic groups through participating in cultural events. It doesn’t follow that another group will share your ideals simply because you do.

4. DISPUTE Whoa, what’s going on?
You’re right, Conflict, I said.

Look, the truth is that not everyone you work with will be someone you enjoy being around. There will almost certainly be at least one coworker with whom you don’t get along in the majority of your jobs.

Throughout your adult years, you will also have disagreements with your family, spouse, kids, and numerous other people.
Because of this, it’s crucial for college students to encounter conflict and learn how to resolve it successfully.
The trick here is to learn how to handle it .

If you are aware that you are a hothead who gets angry easily when someone disagrees with you, it is time to work on your ability to remain composed under pressure. The last thing you want is to have a quarrel with your boss that results in you packing up and leaving the office for good.

5. ACTIVITY I adore how personalized an adventure can be for each person.
Consider these questions:

What gives you delight in your heart? What causes your anxious excitement? Have you ever wanted to do something but never got the opportunity? Find anything that inspires you to be free-spirited. It was going on weekend mini-vacations for me. Some of my pals did bungee jumping out of towers or those insane obstacle course events (no thanks).

When you allow your inner child to run wild, this is the experience you get!
